About

"I believe that theatre has a way of piercing someone's soul like no other art form can." - Melanie

Melanie is a native of Tampa, Florida and has been performing for as long as she can remember, but it wasn’t until she began working towards her theatre degree that she realized she loves the opportunity to influence the story in more ways than just one. Melanie is a firm believer that theatre has a way of penetrating the soul in a unique way. She wants to tell theatrical stories that don’t just bring laughter and light, but also change people for the better and help them to see themselves and the world just a little bit clearer.

Melanie has written numerous plays, both herself and as part of a writing team. One of her favorite experiences was being a writer on the team that wrote Decipher: An Unpenned Story of the Civil War. The show was produced by Liberty University in 2021 with a grant from the Center for Research and Scholarship. Melanie was the Assistant Director and portrayed the role of Hattie Webster, an undercover spy in the Civil War. Melanie was recently seen at James River Theatre Company portraying the lead in Agatha Christie’s play Love from a Stranger. She also directed her own play PROFILE as an educational Lab production safely during COVID in Fall 2020. She is thrilled to be Stage Managing the National Tour of The Thorn. Come see it! https://www.thethorn.com/tour-dates
